Who should you hire as your agent and how do you get that crucial decision right?

It's a high-stakes choice about one of the most pivotal financial decisions you will ever make.

And unfortunately there's a lot of bullshit out there in the real estate world, often reinforced by agents willing to say almost anything to get your business. Even savvy clients can be misled by all the exaggerations, questionnable claims and outright falsehoods.

That's why you need a broker like me. I protect my clients by unabashedly calling out the BS (to myself as well!). I refuse to drink the industry Kool-Aid and I'm a fierce believer in basing our decisions on verifiable facts. And no rose-colored glasses: I will always share with you the unvarnished reality of the situation.

And I'm able to do all this with high energy, a positive outlook and brace yourself...with kindness! First of all, that's just the default setting of my nature. Secondly, it's because bullies in this business try...but they seldom win. What they often do is complicate the negotiations, create unnecessary additional stress, and put an otherwise good deal at risk of collapse. (do know that an inner beast resides within me and we'll let it out if that's what's required to deal with trouble)

My approach is how we keep the most money in your pocket, reduce the stress of a complicated process, and ultimately get what's going to make you happy.

Here's what the real estate world doesn't want to admit or tell you, but you need to understand. While the whole process of buying and selling a house certainly involves a lot of consequential detail work, crucial deadlines and. yes, significant financial risk if you screw up...it ain't quantum mechanics, people.

The bar is low to get through the real estate classes, pass the exams and get a license. And once out in the real world, experienced agents all learn the very same and limited range of best practices it takes to write a solid offer or market a listing. We all have access to same information, and there are no secrets.

Which is why I warn consumers about industry leaders and agents who claim they know the "unique strategy" or "proprietary techniques" that allegedly yield better results than anybody else. That's just a bunch of hype from an  overcrowded field in which agents are desperately trying to one-up their competitors and standout.
